BREW BOMB

Constructed in Cinema 4D and composited in Photoshop, these product renders told the story of the ACE Brewer (commercial cold brew coffee brewer) and were developed alongside dozens of social media posts, email marketing campaigns, and advertisements. They drove intrigue , boosted Brew Bomb's social media following, and ultimately aided in generating leads and sales.

MCM REBOOT

For USC, it was time to reboot the marketing of their online Master's in Communication Management Program. The brief was to come up with a design that was as bold and distinguished as the university itself. The result was this collection of hyper-modern designs that focuses on school spirit and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

new beginnings

Formerly part of Pearson, the purchase of the business that is now Boundless Learning, demanded the invention of a new brand, a brand that needed a way to introduce themselves to the world from nothing. With limited guidance, the task was to build a motion video identity for the purposes of launching the brand internally and externally.

Brew Bomb ASK the Experts logo

Have questions? ASK the Experts! In order to drive social media engagements and product purchases, ASK the Experts became a recurring Instagram Live Stream featuring live motion graphics, promotional social media posts and video recaps.
Role: Graphic Designer and Technical Director

The Challenge

There was one need. We had to continue position ourselves as experts in the industry. With the goal of bringing industry experts to our audience in a live format, we brainstormed how we could broadcast a one-of-a-kind, fully integrated production with a small, remote crew.

The Process

First, I mocked-up our new sub brand, then created a static design system to support it. Second, I added some fresh animation and exported the assets in a live streaming friendly format, ready to be triggered at any time. Third, I rebuilt the layouts in OBS, our software of choice.

The Result

The result was a live stream that was extremely unique to Instagram Live at the time, especially in the coffee industry. The presentation delivered on our clean and effective brand guidelines while providing a new medium that we could use to connect with our audience and form relationships.

The mission of ASK the Experts is to bring the knowledge of cold brew coffee experts to the masses in a live format that allows audience participation for dynamic discussion.

Broadcast on Instagram, the livestream features a suite of custom graphic elements including logos, bugs, and fully animated transitions.

In order to generate excitement for this new program, this energetic video with engaging motion, kinetic typography, and an upbeat tone encouraged applications and set the tone.

The Challenge

How do you get a new product out into the world to people who are genuinely excited about it? Make them an engaging offer they can't refuse!

The Process

From script to storyboards to final edit, I maintained the idea throughout that we were competing in a saturated market. Our video had to be engaging and it had to get to our value proposition as fast as possible.

The Result

After observing performance and slowly ramping up our advertising budget, we labeled this campaign a success after gathering dozens of high quality applicants willing to work with us on future cold brew coffee cross promotions.

THe JM Experience Awards

In order to generate excitement for this new program, this energetic video with engaging motion, kinetic typography, and an upbeat tone encouraged applications and set the tone.

The Challenge

With the onset of COVID, Johns Manville needed a creative way to bring their yearly award show that showcases the company's top performers to the digital realm.

The Process

With a desire to elevate the online award show experience, we decided on a balance between pre-rendered animations and live presentations from real leaders during the show. In After Effects, I built out a modular, fully animated motion graphics system that could be updated year after year as individual details changed.

The Result

These intro and outro videos uniquely framed the JM Experience Awards show and brought life to this celebration of the company's best performers in a fresh and modern way.

The next evolution of Maryville university is built on Momentum. Putting 3 authentic student stories in the spotlight, these 13 national TV spots were commissioned to showcase how Marvyille University changes lives.

Review

Hot off of our previous national campaign, "NEXT", it was time to take a critical eye to our past executions and create the next best thing with the goal of generating more student applications.

The Plan

We set out to make these spots more personable and relatable. We wanted the audience to feel that a real person was behind these stories and that they too could be like them should they sign up for a program.

Execution

The end result became a dynamic collection of stories that builds trust and functions as a warm entry point to the university's marketing funnel. Created in varying lengths for social, streaming, and television to meet prospective students organically, where they already are.

IN NEED OF RELIEF

Snappy and to the point, this series of 9+ support videos was commissioned to alleviate pressure created by an increased number of repeat support calls due to the growth of the business.
Role: Art Director, Cinematographer, Video Editor.

The Challenge

Support calls are piling up. The task was to take the immense knowledge of the owner of the company and condense as much as possible into short tutorial videos.

The Process

In a video full of technical information, it was a focus of ours not to let the content get bogged down. We created these video to balance technical information with approachability using moderate pacing and helpful infographics.

The Result

Before, our resources were exhausted answering repeat queries over the phone. The library of videos we created here served as a repository of quick-reference information for some of our most common questions, allowing us to spend less time on the phone and more time focused on growth.

student day

To Johns Manville, finding world class talent is paramount. For a seminar where the primary goal was to recruit talented students and generate excitement about the industry, we turned to this employee testimonial and hype video to steer things in the right direction. Role: Art Director, Cinematographer, Editor.

The Challenge

Tasked with taking the years of experience from our subject matter experts and condensing it down into a short video required developing a targeted, focused set of questions.

The Process

I designed the questions and held the interview in a way that wasn't "too serious"; a technique I use regularly to get those who may be camera shy to come out of their shell.

The Result

What we accomplished was a high energy, engaging video, with advice that should be held onto for a lifetime. The style and PUNCH of the video directly caters to the intended younger, school-going audience.

time management

When it came to looking at our content calendar for the end of semester crunch, we found an old time management video of fours that was used in the past, but didn't meet the expectations we had set for the Maryville brand over the past year. It was time for a revemp. Role: Art Director, Motion Graphics Artist, Video Editor.

The Challenge

The task was to put a fresh spin on a mundane topic. The goal was to make content in the style of something a college-aged student would actually WANT to watch.

The Process

In thinking about how we could make the video more engaging, I came up with the idea to wrap student interviews in a narrative lens, for the purpose of adding levity and demonstrating how said tips could be useful.

The Result

This project allowed us to elevate video standards within Maryville's catalogue, placing a greater focus on making the brand's social media a more robust destination for information and education.
